In this episode in the life of Mia, we meet her wearing, without permission, her mother’s gorgeous new hat and playing in the rain gutter on the edge of the roof of her house. Without warning a sudden torrential downpour washes her down the drain pipe. Mia barely manages to avoid going down the sewer, but her hat is swept away. Down the sewer it goes, where it is commandeered by the evil rat, Romaine and his wretched cousins. |

So begins the adventure. Mia must pick herself up, retrieve the lost hat, and then find her way home. As she pursues her quest, she gamely negotiates hidden passages, scales heights not usually fit for a mouse, crosses streams, lifts heavy objects and performs other feats of derring-do — all with the active assistance of the player.

As in other Mia adventures players will discover a story, a quest and an adventure while using a unique navigation that provides real-time control of Mia to make their way through a marvelously rich 3D universe, seen from the perspective of a mouse. This 2 CD-Rom title also includes feature-film quality animation, colorful and endearing characters and educational activities that are both enriching and amusing.

Science with a Smile
Children, from early infancy on, are natural-born scientists, figuring out their world and how it works by making theories, testing them out with experiments and revising them when their predictions or hypotheses don’t work. The activities — or games within the game — give Mia and the player a chance to test their knowledge about or learn for the first time age-appropriate scientific concepts and scientific terminology. Some of the topics covered are: plants and their parts; animals, their habitats, their eating habits and how to classify them; weather, clouds; the solar system; earth science; the human body and its systems; heat energy; properties of matter fossils; electricity and magnetism. |
